“I see heaven, I can't explain it, so I'm drawing what I see.”
Drulag is a digital artist whose work began after a near-death experience in which he witnessed heaven. Since then, he perceives interdimensional beings woven into the fabric of reality, “another life form, emulating the human form,” which he believes communicate subtle guidance to humanity.
Rather than treat this as private experience, Drulag translates it into art: the Imaginary Characters (IC) collection, a growing series of digital beings rendered from what he describes seeing. Each release is an attempt to demonstrate alternate realities, sharpen visual perception, and spark creativity in the people who encounter it.
His stated mission is to introduce new concepts to digital art while advancing what the medium can mean, and eventually to decode the messages he believes these figures are communicating through pictures, songs, and intuition.
The visions come through more than one medium. Alongside the Imaginary Characters, Drulag records music under the alias Ulag, with songs captured once, straight through, released as they come.

Drulag hasn't published exact dates for every milestone. Where a date isn't stated outright, this timeline is reconstructed from public records, primarily Internet Archive snapshots of drulag.com, and marked as such below.
Before the visions
Eight years as a self-taught artist and carpenter
In his journal entry “Origins,” Drulag describes roughly eight years of isolated work as an artist and carpenter, before an accident involving a snow-shovel invention led to broken ribs, and a month spent on over-the-counter cold and flu medication.
By August 2018
drulag.com launches on WordPress, with a Journal already in place
The earliest record of drulag.com in the Internet Archive is from August 5, 2018: a self-hosted WordPress site (WordPress 4.9.8, on Bluehost) titled “DRULAG — AT ONE WITH HEAVEN.” Its navigation already included a Journal section, which means “Origins,” the entry describing how the visions began, was written at or before this point. No exact publish date survives for the post itself; this is the earliest hard evidence of it existing.

The site grows into a store
By November 2020, drulag.com had grown from a ~5 KB WordPress page to a ~30 KB site running WooCommerce, WPBakery Page Builder, and Slider Revolution, evidence Drulag was building out e-commerce and richer visual presentation well before the NFT pivot, on the same Journal-equipped WordPress foundation.

Imaginary Characters (IC) collection goes live
The first individual IC piece was crawled by the Wayback Machine on January 9, 2022, with the full /nfts gallery archived by January 22, marking the public debut of the collection, as the visions were translated into a numbered series of digital works.

The collection grows to 140 characters
From “Everyday King” (IC #002) to “Piper and Gnat Owl” (IC #140), Drulag has steadily expanded the cast, developing a distinct, instantly recognizable digital-abstract style now spreading across a growing audience on Instagram and Facebook.
